2020 Update

Thu, 13/02/2020 - 8:36am

An independent report from an experienced charity practitioner commissioned by GETA in April 2019 noted that St Theresa’s is a successful school with leavers’ examination results increasing each year, making it the most popular school in the diocese, and consequently heavily oversubscribed. It also emphasised the benefits our financial support has brought to the school community and concluded:

“...I was impressed by what I saw and would recommend you continue with your support.”

Paypal's Giving Tuesday

Tue, 17/12/2019 - 2:31pm

In 2012, Giving Tuesday started as a simple way to encourage people everywhere—and make it easier for them—to do good by donating time, expertise or money to causes they were passionate about. Now, Giving Tuesday has become a global phenomenon. Inspiring people in communities around the world to help in any way they can. You were inspired and we were inspired. So this December we’re making every Tuesday a Giving Tuesday. We’re inviting everyone to consider how much they can help someone in their community or halfway around the world.

GETA Trustees and Management Team

June 2019 update

Fri, 14/06/2019 - 7:13am

The Team has been working hard to continue, with your help, the development of Fr Paul’s school, St Theresa’s, in Uganda. Following the successful construction of the water bore-hole, our latest funded project was the erection of a secure perimeter fence around the whole complex to ensure the safety of the school community. Additionally, a Safeguarding Policy agreed between GETA and the school was implemented in March 2019.

In April 2019 GETA commissioned an independent charity to visit St Theresa’s and submit a report. Feedback comments included:

David & Rachel's Cabbage Patch 10 mile run, 14th October 2018

Amount raised
£200.00

Woke up this morning and the weather didn't look good - heavy rain was forecast, but fortunately it cleared by start time - 10.00a.m. - and the run was going very well until the final mile when it might have been better opting for swimming gear as we were hit by a torrential downpour. Nevertheless, we crossed the finishing line in a creditable time of 1h 39m 25s - a PB for Rachel. Thank you for all your support, and your donations have gone a long way to helping us reach our target.
